Wine not? North Georgia Wineries

It might not be Tennessee Whiskey, but North Georgia has some pretty amazing wineries. These aren’t just any wineries either…you can be sipping on some fine wine with a view. Although I haven’t been to all of them yet, it’s definitely on my list. Here are some of the ones I’ve personally enjoyed…and by enjoyed I mean got plastered at and ate all the free pretzels.

With over 13 acres of vines planted on this farm, it’s no wonder people aren’t flocking to this place. Although I didn’t do a vineyard tour, I did get to go inside and try some wine. I mean, that’s the whole point right? The inside was quaint, the girls were friendly and there was a beautiful gold retriever roaming around, looking for some belly rubs. Can’t say I remember every wine I had, but one definitely stuck out to me…

Sassy Sisters Hmm, sounds like the perfect drink for me (although mine would be called sassy with a touch of trashy) [wp-svg-icons icon=”wink” wrap=”i”] This wine is sweet, and with aromas that smell like Jolly Ranchers, no wonder this wine screams my name. If I haven’t told you before…my sweet tooth is out of control. I am full blown addicted to all things sugar, especially hard candy. Anytime I can get my hands on it I do! This wine is best served chilled…making it a refreshingly sweet summer beverage.

Never limit yourself on season though, if you wanna drink Christmas Wine on Halloween, then do it damnit!

Anything family run is bound to make you feel like you’re at home. At first glance, the property is huge. There is the families house on the hill and the winery just at the bottom. If that were me, there would be no more wine to taste! You could drink all night and just stumble home! Okay, maybe that’s just me who thinks like that HA. No live music was playing at the time but they had a beautiful open air seating area filled with tables overlooking the vineyards. Inside, a dream. That warm rustic feeling, mixed with mood lighting and a a cheese platter?? YES PLEASE. I ended up doing the Chocolate Cup Tasting because chocolate…duh.

Favorite from the tasting? -Golden Harvest- A sweet muscadine wine with hints of fruity flavor. YUMMM. I loved this one so much that I bought a bottle. At only $18,  was tempted to buy a case haha.

The chocolate cup? I thought you’d never ask. It was a milk and white chocolate cup shaped into what looked like a tulip and guess what went in it?? NO, not milk…wine! A dark, rich muscadine wine with hints of blueberries. It’s like fucking Willy Wonka of Wine. TO. DIE. FOR. Honestly I don’t like mixing chocolate with alcohol…gives me the shits, but this was well worth it.

Pretty much sums up how I looked leaving this place. Understand that I visited all 3 of these wineries in one day! Mama didn’t raise no quitter. But seriously…talk about views. This by far had the best scenery, and largest selection of wine along with FOOD! Which we needed desperately. Their line of wines makes you proud to be an AMERICAN. With names like Valor, Patriot and Liberty, I find it to be my duty as a good samaritan to try them all. By this time, I was’t really paying attention to too many names, I was just worried about shoveling my face with cheese and enjoying the company of my friends. One in particular did stand out, and I only know this because I bought a bottle of that as well.

-Carlos Sweet- So the name might not sound too American…more like a back door illegal alien TRYING to become a citizen, but regardless, this was another favorite. Once again…muscadine wine. Is it a southern thing?? I think it is…but who cares its GOOD! This wine boasts that fruity flavor I just can’t seem to get enough of.

Told ya…#views

I know this time around I only hit 3 wineries, but next time I head to Georgia’s beautiful countryside, I’ll be trying out more! Don’t drink and drive because you’ll ruin it for all of us. Lucky for you, most of the North Georgia Wineries are only about 80 miles outside of Atlanta, making this the perfect weekend getaway, or in my case…an eventful Sunday Funday!

Have you been to any Georgia Wineries? Let me know what I’m missing out on!

Happy Drinking Bitches! xo

  1. I love spending a girls day up in the north GA wineries! My fave out of the ones in this post is fainting goat- their wine glasses and labels are just too cute! Wolf Mountain and Monteluce have great views too!

    • Tatum Skipper says:

Right?? That one was my favorite too just because of the views. I will definitely be checking out the other ones because who doesn’t like drinking wine with a view? 🙂 Thanks for the suggestions.

  2. Heading to North Georgia? You should not miss the chance to taste their wine! They have some great list of it. Perfect for those who are looking for some time to rest their tired body.
