ADVENTURE. Without scaring the shit out of you.
Parasailing I would say is almost exactly like paragliding (The Swiss Alps), except you are over water instead of land. AND you get pulled by a boat rather than jumping off some cliff (See: Hang Gliding Rio) into the air. Both very similar and equally as thrilling! My boyfriend and I jetted off to Key West to enjoy his 25th birthday; a weekend of relaxation and a little adventure. Most of the time I have to travel alone or with friends, meaning that all of my crazy experiences aren’t spent with him 🙁 sad I know. But this time I was determined to surprise him with some fun for the both of us! Parasailing would be the ticket!
Arrival
Easy to find…just head straight for the water really ha. Once you find your crew, hop on the boat and enjoy the ride! I wish I could go into more detail about parasailing but there isn’t much to it. Just some fun in the sun!
Now, for all you pussies who want adventure but are too scared to try anything, parasailing is the perfect beginner’s experience! We had more fun than usual because there was another couple on board that just so happened to bring their parents. Like I’ve said before, all you need is a little liquid courage and you can do anything. THEIR PARENT’S WERE WASTED! It was hilarious. See?? Vodka has some amazing powers!
Lift off
The instructors give you a very short briefing. You sit your ass down on the back of the boat, they strap you in, you fly.
So I made the mistake of trying to take my GoPro out there. Do you know how fucking annoying it is to try to enjoy yourself while simultaneously trying to film/take pictures? Don’t do it. Pay the extra $20, enjoy your time and buy the damn pictures!

It’s not even good quality! After this, I put it down and just enjoyed the view.
They decided to dunk us in the water as I was trying to put it away. That’s what I get for trying to interrupt their photo’s! Trust me, the water felt very refreshing. Just watch out for the school of sharks swimming by!

They know how to get those action shots. So just don’t try.

Back on Board
Andddd, were back! Easy enough right? You are in the air for about 10-15 minutes. Soaring over the blue waters and seeing the city from a new perspective.

As much as I love other adventures, I hate when the entire process empties out my bank account or takes alllll dayyyyy longgg to do! Parasailing is a cheap thrill that will only take up a very small portion of your day! The perfect activity for any vacation.

That’s so cool I’d love to try it! I Love hiking and climbing but at the same time I have a fear of heights so for me, as a “pussy” for bungee jumping, parasailing would be perfect! Have to do it 😛

I remember doing this a few years ago in the south of France and absolutely loved it. If I ever visit Florida, I will definitely try it again!

Parasailing is an absolute pleasure, I had done it in various places but the one I particularly loved was Bali. I have never tried the couple one, it has been always solo. The whoosh of air as you take off is one crazy thing. Glad you were able to do it too.

I hate spending money, but that looks like it’s worth the price. Parasailing looks like so much fun! Maybe I’ll get brave and try it some day.
If you save on some other things and splurge on some fun things then its well worth it!!!
